Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept my insurance plan?

We accept most insurance plans and are preferred providers in some dental networks, including Delta Dental. Please call our office if you’d like information about your particular plan.

What do I do if I have an after-hours emergency?

If you are an established patient we’ve got you covered. Call our office phone for instructions on how to reach the doctor on call.

What payment options do you offer?

We accept cash, check, and credit card. For more extensive care, we offer some low-cost financing options through CareCredit.

How can I ask Dr. Douglas questions directly?

We always allow time during your appointment for questions; in fact, we encourage them. If you think of additional questions after you leave our office, just call, and Dr. Douglas will get back to you as quickly as possible.

How can I safely whiten my teeth?

In-office and at-home teeth whitening procedures are safe and effective. Your time, budget, and preferences will dictate the best method for you. We’ll be glad to discuss the pros and cons of both.

My gums bleed after I brush. Should I be worried?

Yes, because bleeding gums are often the first symptom of periodontal disease. Gum disease isn’t something to ignore, since it can have serious health consequences. Call our office to get your gums checked out.

How do you help nervous patients relax?

In addition to our inviting office, comforting atmosphere, and gentle staff, we offer oral sedation with anxiolytics. Dental fear is a very real condition, and we do not want it to deter a patient from seeking and receiving the oral healthcare he or she needs. Oral sedation with medications specifically designed to ease anxiety can help dental phobics relax and receive the dental care they deserve.

Can you make my front teeth look better without using braces?

Veneers may be a good option if your teeth are discolored, stained, chipped, or broken. We also use veneers to cover gaps in your smile. Call our office, and we’ll be glad to explain the procedure in more detail.

What is smile design?

Smile design is the process we go through to ensure that you get the smile of your dreams. We’ll take photos and impressions of your current smile and discuss what you’d like to change. Then we take all this information and use principles of proportion and harmony it to design a beautiful new smile that’s perfectly and distinctly you.
